These terms govern use of the xmpp.lt website and XMPP communication service provided by xmpp.lt.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy policy. If acting for an organization, you confirm authority to bind it. If you cannot legally enter this agreement yourself, you may use an account only with permission from your legal representative.
2. Service
xmpp.lt supplies an XMPP account and related communication features. XMPP is federated, so communication with other servers also depends on their operation and rules. Available features may change over time.
3. Accounts and invitations
- Provide accurate information, choose a strong password, and protect your credentials.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Report suspected unauthorized use to admin@xmpp.lt.
- Invitations may not be sold, harvested, or distributed to circumvent registration controls.
- You may not impersonate another person or select a misleading address for an unlawful purpose.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the service for:
- spam, unsolicited bulk messages, fraud, phishing, or malware;
- threats, harassment, infringement of others’ rights, or unlawful content;
- unauthorized access, bypassing safeguards, exploiting vulnerabilities, or disrupting the service;
- automated activity that places a disproportionate load on infrastructure or harms XMPP federation.
You are responsible for the content you send and for ensuring it is lawful.
5. Content and federation
You retain rights to your content. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process, store, and transmit it to operate the service and reach recipients you select. Messages delivered to other users or servers may remain on their systems and are outside our control.
6. Availability and security
We aim to operate reliably but do not promise uninterrupted availability, particular features, or that data will never be lost. We may perform maintenance, change capacity, or temporarily limit functions for technical, security, or abuse-prevention reasons. You are responsible for keeping copies of important data.
7. Restriction and termination
We may limit, suspend, or terminate an account when we reasonably believe it violates these terms, endangers the service or others, or when required by law. Where safe and reasonable, we will try to give advance notice. You may request deletion through account management; the account is disabled immediately and scheduled for permanent deletion after 7 days.
8. Third-party services
Other XMPP servers, client applications, and external links are operated by third parties. We are not responsible for their content, security, availability, or terms.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” without implied warranties. We are not liable for indirect loss, lost profits, lost messages, or harm caused by third-party servers. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
10. Changes
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, security, or law. Material changes will be published here with an updated effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance; if you disagree, stop using the service and delete the account.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Lithuanian law without limiting mandatory consumer protections where you live. We will first try to resolve disputes in good faith. Contact admin@xmpp.lt.
